Missionary Society
In concert with the AME Zion Church’s Women’s Home and Oversees Missionary Society, First Church’s Missionary Society activities are designed to “promote growth in the knowledge and understanding of God and His plan of redemption for the world , as revealed through Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Be Made Whole
First Church encourages all to "Be Made Whole" through spiritual enrichment and maintained health and wellness.
Women's Ministry
The Women's Ministry is designed to provide a safe and welcoming environment for women of all ages to come together to encourage and support each other. Women will team to mentor other and to adopt the "each one, teach one' philosophy in sharing skill sets and talents.
Christian Education
The Christian Education Department of the AME Zion Church was created for the promotion and supervision of the Christian training and development of the entire membership of the denomination. First Church encourages participation of all members – adults, young adults, youth, and children. Sunday School and Bible Study are integral parts of our CED ministry.
Worship and Arts
First AME Zion's Worship and Arts Ministry includes our choirs and Historical Society. The choirs lift the Name of Jesus through singing traditional and contemporary songs, hymns and spirituals.
The Historical Society updates and maintains the historical records of First Church from its founding in 1864 to the present time.
Media
The Media Ministry works to assist First Church’s mission to spread the Gospel through involvement in various aspects of today’s information and communications technological environment.
